Miniature Railway, Bognor, 1909
This railway of 10.25in gauge ran for one summer season. The builders of the Locomotive named "Winnie" were Robert Alexander Briggs and his son (seen driving) Robert Westrope Briggs. Mr Briggs senior was an eminent architect of theatres and retired to Shripney near Bognor in 1913, bringing with him Winnie which he operated on his private garden railway. In 1963 Mr Briggs presented Winnie to the Chichester Model Engineers and she still steamed on a regular basis.
